Evie had a really fun Christmas. Her grandparents from up north drove down to spend the holiday here. They brought with them a present that Evie exclaimed (upon unwrapping it) was what she always wanted: a rocking horse that whinnies and gallops and wags its tail. Evie was able to open this present on Christmas Eve, and she has been feeding the horse carrots, petting its mane, and boosting its self-confidence with declarations of what a good horse he is ever since.
Evie had a hard time, at first, staying in bed on Christmas Eve. But, once asleep, she stayed asleep for the rest of the night, and she managed to sleep in until 7:30 a.m., giving me plenty of time to have the camera ready to capture her first sight of the Christmas tree on Christmas morning.
Just before Evie awoke, her grandparents called to say they were heading over from their hotel, which was only a few minutes away. So, we asked Evie to wait for them to arrive before she opened any of her wrapped gifts.
She was surprisingly patient.
Once everyone was present and settled, it was time to check out everything Santa left...
Some friends gave Evie a few small gifts, as well.
And she saved the present from her other grandparents for last.
After opening presents, we left to go see the movie "Frozen" in the theater. It was Evie's first experience at a movie theater, and she watched the screen pretty intently the entire time. It was a fun treat, and a cute movie.
