Swimming, Floating, and Playing

We spent part of a day by a lake called Navajo Lake.

First, we spotted some osprey trying to fish, or maybe trying to teach its younger ones how to fish.

Then we watched as some family floated around on the lake in rafts.

I played in the water on the shore. As usual, I had a lot of fun.

Dad let me float around near the shore for a few minutes before we left the lake.

After we got back to the cabin, I settled into the room with the books and toys, where the rest of my cousins were playing.

My grandpa cooked some hamburgers on the grill.

My dad and an uncle cooked hot dogs over a fire. Some of my older cousins brought out camp chairs so they could sit by the fire.

I had to take a look at it myself.

And wash my hands off in the water from the hose.

Dinner was good!

Zion National Park

I went to Zion National Park with my mom and dad and some other family. While waiting to leave, I watched the ground hogs and squirrels running around our cabin, and I spent some time with a couple of my cousins.

Once in Zion, I did a hike with other family members to a pool that is part of what is called The Emerald Pools.

I rode in my stroller for most of the hike, and even managed to get in a nap.

The view was very pretty, although I missed it.

On the way back, I was able to hike for a short distance.

Then Mom and Dad spotted a squirrel. They didn't want me to try to chase after it (off onto the steep hillside), so back into the stroller I went.

Mom and Dad also spotted a lizard. I liked his blue tail.

When we got back to the beginning of the trail, by the river that runs through Zion, Mom and Dad spotted some of the family playing in the water.

Mom and Dad let me play, too.

The water was a bit muddy from recent rains.

But I had too much fun playing among the rocks and small waterfalls.

Drive to Southern Utah

We picked a rainy time to be in Utah. On our drive down to Duck Creek Village  (in southern Utah) we ran in to one cloud burst after another. Dad didn't appreciate having to drive in downpour after downpour, although after we passed by a guy on his motorcycle, he didn't feel quite as bad. Thankfully, I was able to sleep for most of the drive. When we finally made it into the mountains that would take us to our cabin, the weather began to break, and it turned very beautiful out.

Back to Utah

Mom and Dad dragged me out of bed at 3:00 a.m. about a week ago to take me on a plane back to Utah for a vacation with Dad's family. After we arrived, we drove down to my grandma and grandpa's house, where my grandpa took me to feed some horses near his house.

We finished feeding the horses, then took my cousin to a pond to feed some ducks and geese.

I had fun chasing after the birds with my bread.

The birds were a little more friendly than I expected.

Since the birds found the bread so yummy, I decided to give it a taste, too. Mom wasn't too happy with that.

I had a lot of fun, and I was plenty worn out by the end of the day.
