I visited the
Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis yesterday and was surprised to find a celebration of Dia de los Muertos happening at the market. Aztec dancers performed for those visiting the market (I got lucky and had a front row seat). They were dressed in dramatic costumes with long, fancy feathers, and many dancers had their faces painted. I enjoyed watching the dancing and listening to loud drumming. I was even excited when I had the chance to meet one of the dancers.
Tomorrow I'll post pictures of me in my Halloween costume. It was based off of Dia de los Muertos, too! In fact, I had my face painted a lot like the dancer's face I'm next to in the picture above.
