Azteca Mexica New Year

On Saturday, I attended a celebration at a nearby high school called Azteca Mexica New Year. There were a few vendors and organizations with booths at the school, as well as some food and craft projects. The celebration included three dance groups: a Native American Song and Drum group, Aztec dancers, and Idle No More, who performed a Round Dance.

We arrived just as the Native American group was finishing their performance. I thought about joining in with them, but before I could make up my mind, the performance had ended and we were waiting for the Aztec dancers to get ready.

While waiting, I took the opportunity to play a game with Mom. I'd run away, stop, wait for Mom, then run away again when she got too close to me.

Soon, the Aztec dancers were ready. Their costumes are really, really cool, and so is their drumming and dancing.
