Azteca Mexica New Year

On Saturday, I attended a celebration at a nearby high school called Azteca Mexica New Year. There were a few vendors and organizations with booths at the school, as well as some food and craft projects. The celebration included three dance groups: a Native American Song and Drum group, Aztec dancers, and Idle No More, who performed a Round Dance.

We arrived just as the Native American group was finishing their performance. I thought about joining in with them, but before I could make up my mind, the performance had ended and we were waiting for the Aztec dancers to get ready.

While waiting, I took the opportunity to play a game with Mom. I'd run away, stop, wait for Mom, then run away again when she got too close to me.

Soon, the Aztec dancers were ready. Their costumes are really, really cool, and so is their drumming and dancing.

My First Library Card

I got my first library card over the weekend. I was very excited!

I also attended Music Under Glass at the Como Conservatory. Mom and Dad enjoyed the music, I enjoyed the koi pond and meeting people from France.

Stickers by Number

My grandpa sent me a Valentine. It included a card and a little craft. I was really excited to get a package in the mail.

I wasted no time digging into my present.

The craft included a picture of a butterfly and a bunch of foam stickers.

The butterfly had squares with numbers on it. It was like a paint-by-number project, except with stickers.

Mom told me what stickers to put on what numbers, and I got to work.

It took a while, but I finished the project!

And I think I did a pretty good job.
