Walk with Mom

Mom took me for a walk this morning. The weather has been so depressing this week with rain, cloudy days, and 20 degree below average temperatures. We've been stuck in the house, but, today, it warmed up and the sun came out. So, Mom put me in the car and away we went. It was nice to get out.

Behind the Scenes

How does a photo like this happen?

It takes some knowledge of the equipment your using, some assistance with that equipment, some luck, and looking a bit like a goof.

Doesn't it look like I knocked Dad over and he's trying to stop me from swinging into him again? Never underestimate the power of someone who's really little. Ha ha

My Great Grandma

One of my great grandmas on my dad's side passed away Easter Sunday. She was a thoughtful, caring woman who loved her family very much. Thankfully, I had the opportunity to meet her about a year ago. May she rest in peace.

Easter Weekend: Minnesota Zoo

After finding my Easter basket, Mom and Dad put me in the car, and we headed to the Minnesota Zoo.

First, we saw Snow Monkeys.

Then we saw some albino bunnies, and some chicks. I really liked the chicks.

In an area where they had fish, there was an open pool I was ready to jump into and go swimming. There were also some very pretty sea horses.

Dad put me on his shoulders so I could see some of the animals easier.

Some areas were really busy and it was kind of hard to get a good look at the animals.

Mom and Dad enjoyed watching the tiger. I didn't notice him much. He was a little too far away for me.

The prairie dogs came up close to the edge of their habitat, though. It was fun hearing them "bark."

I wasn't very impressed with the camels, either. They just kind of stood there. Mom and Dad liked them, though.

We made it to an area arranged like a farm. I liked the chicken coop. Mom and Dad liked it, too, mostly because they were able to get these pictures.

I had some close encounters with some goats. It was a little scary at times because they got so close to my face! I liked touching them, and I even fed a pellet to one of them.

We ate lunch after seeing all the farm animals. All the excitement combined with the food in my tummy helped me pass right out in the stroller.

Mom and Dad took some time to check out one last area in the zoo while I slept, the Tropical Trail. I missed these guys (West African Dwarf Crocodiles).

I did wake up before we left, and I had a good conversation with Dad about all the animals we had seen.

And that was the end to my Easter weekend.

Easter Weekend: Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny left a few things for me to find Easter morning, including a couple pieces of candy!

After I woke up and got dressed, Mom helped me down the stairs. She said there was a surprise waiting for me, and I couldn't wait to see it. I knew it must be something special since Dad had the camera out.

My surprise did not disappoint!

I quickly set to work checking out everything in my basket.

A little while later I got another Easter gift!

I had a great Easter morning!

Easter Weekend: Saturday

It was rainy and chilly most of Saturday, but by the late afternoon it warmed up enough for me to get outside. I went to a playground and had a lot of fun.

I'm getting really good at going down the little slides by myself.

Mom took me down a big slide. I'm still too little to go alone on this one.

Grandpa helped push me on the swing for a little while.

Then we went for a walk to see some birds at a pond nearby.

Hoppy Easter!

This is just a little preview of the great Easter weekend I had. More (and better) photos will be coming.

The weekend started with Mom and Dad coloring Easter eggs. They colored them while I napped (I guess they were too messy for me!). I enjoyed seeing all of the colorful eggs when I got up, though.

Family arrived in town Friday night, and we went out to breakfast Saturday morning. We had to wait a little bit to get our table, but it was worth it, especially since Mom shared a couple bites of her chocolate chip pancakes. Mmmmm.

Then we went to the mall. It was rainy and chilly, so not really a good day to be outside much. I saw the Easter Bunny for the first time. I'm not so sure what I thought about him. He was a little creepy looking. In fact, I kind of closed my eyes and wished he would go away.

For Easter, we all went to the zoo (after I found and emptied my Easter basket, of course). It was an exhausting, but fun day.

Can you believe what Mom and Dad make me do for pictures???

At least Dad is willing to be goofy, too. (I pretended to have no idea who he was.)

And this is me, reading from a Hello Kitty coloring book I got for Easter after I got home from the zoo.
