Mother's Day

On Mother's Day, we went to a park in Minneapolis called Theodore Wirth Park to walk a trail through an area called the Quaking Bog.

A boardwalk sort of sits atop the bog. In many places, moss and other plants surrounding the boardwalk are beginning to cover it. As you walk, water seeps through openings in the walkway, so it's best to wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. It's a very beautiful area.

It didn't take long to walk around the bog, so Mom decided we should go to Lake Calhoun where we could spend more time outdoors and have a really good lunch at a restaurant called The Tin Fish. We had to wait over an hour in line just to order our food, but it was well worth the wait! I did such a great job being patient in line, the people standing behind us had to remark over how good I had been. After our lunch, we got ice cream and walked by the water.

It was a good day.
